Traditions
Many professing Christians (including myself at one time) have followed in the footsteps of tradition for many years, even their entire lifetimes . Many traditions are fine, but when tradition usurps the truth of Yahh's* word we are treading on dangerous ground.

Mat 15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Mat 15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. Mat 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God (Yahh) by your tradition? Mat 15:4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. Mat 15:5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; Mat 15:6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God (Yahh) of none effect by your tradition. Mat 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Mat 15:10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Mat 15:12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? Mat 15:13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Mat 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Mat 15:15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. Mat 15:16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? Mat 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: Mat 15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man. Mar 7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. Mar 7:4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables. Mar 7:5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God(Yahh), ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. Mar_7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God(YAHH), that ye may keep your own tradition. 2Th_3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Immanuel) that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. 1Pe_1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; |
The Trap Of Christian Tradition
(Traditions of men)
Does religious tradition become false doctrine?
"Among the main groups of Christianity, there are Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants. All three groups generally accept the traditional developments on the doctrine of the Trinity, for instance, and set bounds of orthodoxy and heresy based on that tradition."
"Christian tradition," Wikipedia "On March 7, 321, Sunday, the Day of the Sun, was declared an official day of rest, on which markets were banned and public offices were closed,[21] except for the purpose of freeing slaves. The Christians reacted to this by moving their Sabbath from the traditional Jewish day to Sunday." Constantine the Great and Christianity Wikipedia |
Note...What they are calling Jewish tradition here is The Almighty's Seventh Day Sabbath, not just tradition.
