Once Saved, Always Saved
Really?
When my husband began reading the Bible as a new born Christian, he came to the conclusion that once saved, always saved was not correct.
That believers could be lost, and if they died while living in a fallen state, they would not inherit Eternal Life.
It was a most traumatic moment when I finally understood the seriousness of going astray. I had never consciously believed in the once saved, always saved doctrine per-say, but I guess that I had always thought that God (Yahh) would understand my weakness. I thought that was why Immanuel was crucified on our behalf, because he was perfect and never sinned. Which he was and didn't, but if you stop and think about it, if you had sent your only son to be sacrificed for a world of fallen, hopeless people, and they just casually went about their lives as if he were nothing, as if his torture, humiliation and death were a small thing, and your self righteousness was good enough, how would you feel? Would you want to just say oh well, no big deal and welcome these callous hearted, self centered souls into your kingdom for all eternity?
Think about this: If once saved, always saved were true, it would be like Yahh leaving Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden after they disobeyed and ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden, Cherubim's, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
Now I'm speaking to myself as well as anyone reading this. We cannot walk the path of righteousness with one foot on the path, and one foot off. It will only lead to rejection and destruction. For example; I'm walking along a trail in the sand dunes, and I see a sign warning hikers to stay on the trail because of the danger of quicksand. But I choose to ignore the sign because I think I'm familiar enough with the terrain that I can spot the quicksand. As I'm walking along, something catches my eye and I step off the trail thinking the sand looks just as solid as the trail, but it isn't and I start sinking. One foot still on the trail, one in the quicksand.
To be continued....
Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of Yahh.
Luke 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Luke 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
The Apostal Paul warned:
Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation,
it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you, that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, wicked men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Sovereign, and Master, Immanuel the Messiah.
Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his majesty with exceeding joy,
Gal 5:4 The Messiah is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his majesty with exceeding joy,
Gal 5:4 The Messiah is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
